Took a taxi to the Florence airport, where we picked up a rental car and drove 1-1/2 hours to our airbnb in Castelnuovo Beardenga, in the Tuscany countryside. While I loved Florence, I was super excited to get into the countryside and away from the tourists. Our airbnb is remote and absolutely lovely, a true Tuscan experience, and we ended up finding the most delightful restaurant in the nearby medieval village. The owner didn't have an English menu and instead said, "I am your English menu, what are you interested in?".
"Ummm, salad and cheese and ummm...meat."
We ended up ordering a wild boar pasta (A-MA-ZING), a cheese platter and a salad. Everything was so delicious, I think I could eat their every night. On top of that, I love that, I love the atmosphere and adore that it's in our neighboring tiny little village.
