today is my trainer / crossfit gym owner’s birthday and it’s my party was the name of our workout of the day (WOD) this morning.
51 deadlifts
51 bench presses
51 squats
and so i dedicate this post to paula! thank you for inspiring me so, teaching me that strong is beautiful and that 50s are fucking fabulous.

i’ve now been crossfitting for 5-1/2 months and couldn’t be happier. it’s addicting, i tell ya. my weight and measurements haven’t budged much since my initial loss at the 5-week point, but i know my body is getting stronger, toner and hopefully leaner.
i recently weened myself from private sessions, which i loved but are expensive, and am now attending four group classes a week (M-W-F-S). i love, love, love it…and can’t wait to see where this crossfit journey continues to take me.
here’s my pre-photos and then a few update pics from this morning…
today ((i had just got home from crossfit, drank a smoothie and was freezing)

i hope my updates will continue to inspire others. remember that it’s never too late. find what works for you and do it. you CAN do it!!
and if you have any questions, PLEASE ask!! i’ll either answer in an ETA section below or another blog post.
and a few photos, just for fun, from my it’s my party series.

Deb.. you look amazing.. ( not that you didnt look amazing before ) but you can totally see the toner leaner you.. wow.. keep it up..
You look AWESOME and can definitely tell that the hard work you’ve been putting in pays off!!
HOLY WOW! I cannoyt believe that your measurements have not changed!! You definitely are slimmer and TOTALLY bikini ready. Way to go! Crossfit has done me a world of good and you inspired me to get started.
Deb! WOW! This gives me so much hope, but granted my body at start looks nothing like your body at start. Here’s a few questions I have for you: How many times a week are you going? What do you do on your off days? How has your eating been? Super clean? Paleo? I’ve got about 30lbs to lose and I’m ready to give it my all. I’ve only been going for one week/twice a week and it’s hard as hell. I can’t even do some of the lifts. Ugh. Thanks for your posts and feedback. Very inspiring.
OMG, what INSPIRATION!! Thank you! I needed this with the morning I had!
Go Deb! You look awesome! I can totally see a change in every part of your body. I’m a fellow addicted crossfitter
I haven’t taken any progress pictures yet, but I think I need to just to remind myself that I am getting somewhere.
look at those defined muscles Deb!! woot! Today was my first meetup with my personal trainer! I’m excited about the journey ahead and you definitely inspire
Holy CRAP! Look at those arms and the definition, not to mention your improved posture. That crossfit workout is SICK. Congrats!
Geez – duh, I see you said you go 4 times a week for group classes. Wow. It’s so crazy expensive just for our group classes. Two is sadly about all I can afford.
you’re amazing.
but i have to say, that top picture of the lady working out just about had me shuddering. i can just imagine. well, i just pulled a muscle the other day with this cough and doing pushups. it’s nasty. i miss being able-bodied.
Wow! You and your work are fabulous. Found you on Bloom and just finished worshipping your site
You’re such an inspiration.
Deb. Your progress is amazing! & I bet you feel even better than you look! What a WOD.
Thank you for posting this & helping me find the courage to post my own crossfit belly on my blog today. You are a huge inspiration to me in many ways.
