people need trouble--
a little frustration to sharpen the spirit on, toughen it.
artists do;
i don't mean you need to live in a rat hole or gutter,
but you have to learn fortitude, endurance.
[william faulkner]

okay, so i don't think william faulkner would think my cough and computer issues/frustrations as true "trouble" but grrrrr...they're making me want to bang my head repetitively on my desk.
my computer continued to lock up so i took it in to the apple store again today, with the little ones in tow. after 1 1/2 hours in an overly crowded, hot apple store, it was determined that i have a failing hard drive. my new hard drive is on order and should arrive on friday. so, my mission is to get all my stuff from my main drive onto my second drive and my external drive.
oh...and...my darn dog gets car sick sometimes and when driving home from the vet today, he puked all over my gps, the center console and down the sides of the seats. so i spent 30 minutes coughing and hugely gagging while i cleaned up his throw-up. yuck, yuck, yuck! i'm not sure how i ever was a nurse. everything makes me gag these days.
the good news: i'm finally starting to cough less. and the little ones were amazingly patient in the apple store. hmmmm...will i always refer to them as the little ones? at 3 and 4 years old, they're not really that little anymore, are they?
and the photo...i shot 20 first graders the other day, for their school auction. believe it or not, i had an awesome time doing it (although i couldn't stop coughing). i enjoyed each and every minute with them and can't wait for the parents to see all the photographs. so, this guy...i fell in love with his long hair and asked him to shake his hair around. well, he started head banging, like he was at the best rock concert ever. i couldn't help but enjoy the moment with him and snap away.

why're you coughing, Deb?
I had a lung infection in December and I swear I coughed every five minutes for about 6 weeks. Utterly exhausting.
Gosh, your work is so inspiring. Each image is just so breath-taking. I come here when I want to be inspired. :)
